It's been a while since I actually wrote something other than posts on my other blog 'Random Cerebrations'. However, this particular story took ages to shape up. I started this one on February 4, 2008 and it was only yesterday March 1, 2009 that I finally keyed in the last syllable on this.
Not that this story is out of the world or anything and I am not arguing it to be my best work till date, it's just that something or the other kept taking me away from the story time and again.
None the less, I am kind of pleased with the way it has turned out to be. This short story attempts to draw an analogy between smoking and having the first heart burn in a relationship and eventually trying to give up both.
You may want to read it for its queer view point, simple first person narrative (as usual) and depiction of some real world scenarios. (Those who have traveled by Haryana Roadways buses would agree)
